Volunteer With Us

Let's Find Your Volunteer Fit

There are many ways to volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Missoula.

Maybe you love gardening, organizing, baking, making music, doing arts and crafts, working with kids, tackling projects or helping behind the scenes.

Maybe your business wants to spend a few hours giving back as a group. Your service club is looking for a meaningful project. Your family wants to volunteer together. Or maybe you simply have some time to give and aren’t quite sure where you could be most helpful.

We will create a custom volunteer experience that’s meaningful for you and helpful to our families.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Individual volunteer opportunities change throughout the year based on the needs of our House and families, and may include:

  • Helping with family activities and special programs
  • Spending time with our Super Siblings
  • Baking or helping with food programs
  • Organizing and stocking supplies
  • Helping with seasonal activities and celebrations
  • Outdoor and gardening projects
  • Sharing music, art, crafts or another special talent
  • Helping with special events or projects around the House

You don’t need to know exactly what you’d like to do before reaching out. We’re happy to come up with an idea together, based on your interests and schedule.

Volunteer as a Group

We often work with businesses and community groups to create meaningful volunteer experiences.

Depending on the size of your group and our current needs, you might tackle a project around the House, help with outdoor work, organize supplies, support a family activity, host a donation drive or complete a task offsite to bring to the House.

Have a big group or a big idea? Talk with us! We’ll see what we can create together.

Have a Special Skill or Talent?

Sometimes the best volunteer opportunities are ones we haven’t thought of yet.

Play guitar? Love photography? Have a green thumb? Great at fixing things? Love doing crafts with kids? Have professional skills you’d like to put to good use?

Tell us!

Volunteers bring all kinds of talents to our House, and we’ll be glad to explore how yours might help create a little joy, comfort or connection for our families.

Volunteer Requirements

Because Ronald McDonald House Missoula is home to families with children receiving medical care, keeping our families safe is always our priority.

Volunteer requirements vary depending on the opportunity. Some ongoing or family-facing volunteer roles may require a volunteer application, orientation and background check.

Volunteers under age 18 are welcome to participate in many opportunities when accompanied and supervised by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. Age requirements may vary depending on the activity.

We’ll walk you through any requirements before you begin.

A Few Things to Know Before You Volunteer

If you’re scheduled to volunteer at the House, please let us know if you’re feeling sick or have recently been exposed to a contagious illness. Many of the children and families we serve are medically fragile, and we’ll be happy to find another time for you to volunteer.

We also ask that all volunteers respect the privacy of our guest families and follow House guidelines while volunteering.

Specific instructions for your volunteer activity will be shared with you before you arrive.

Let's Get Started

Whether you have time to give, talents to share, an idea to explore or an entire group ready to help, we want to hear from you.

Tell us a little about yourself or your group, what you enjoy doing, and what you’re hoping to get out of your volunteer experience.

We’ll take it from there.
