Young Philanthropists

Little Hands Can Make a Big Difference

You don’t have to be a grown-up to make a difference.

At Ronald McDonald House Missoula, we believe some of the biggest hearts in our community belong to our youngest neighbors. Kids and teens can do incredible things when they’re given an opportunity to help.

Whether you’re 5 or 17, there are fun and meaningful ways to help families who have traveled far from home for their child’s medical care.

Ways You Can Help

Young Philanthropists might:

  • Ask for Ronald McDonald House Wish List items instead of birthday gifts
  • Host a snack or Sunny Start breakfast drive
  • Set up a lemonade stand, bake sale, hot cocoa stand or another creative fundraiser
  • Rally a classroom, sports team, club or group around a project
  • Collect change or set a fundraising goal
  • Shop our Wish List as a family
  • Create cards or special projects for guest families
  • Organize a book, game or activity drive based on current House needs
  • Host a read-a-thon, walk-a-thon, shoot-a-thon or another fun challenge
  • Volunteer alongside a parent or another responsible adult
  • Dream up something completely your own

Have Your Own Idea?

Go for it!

Some of the best ideas come from kids themselves. If you have an idea for how you’d like to help Ronald McDonald House Missoula families, tell us about it.

Ask a parent, teacher, coach or another grownup to help you contact us. We’ll help you turn your idea into something meaningful.

Want to Volunteer at the House?

Kids and teens are welcome to participate in many of our volunteer opportunities when accompanied and supervised by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.

Because Ronald McDonald House Missoula serves families with medically fragile children, age requirements and participation guidelines may vary depending on the activity. We’ll help you find something that’s a good fit.
